New Adsense Structure
Well, it looks like Adsense has created a new interface for everyone to work with. It's suppose to make things a little easier for you to see to analyze your Adsense ads. If you haven't already gotten the new beta interface in your account, you will soon. You'll know it because Google will either send you an email saying they activated the New Adsense interface or you'll see a link called "beta Adsense interface".
I've been playing around with the new interface.. I do agree that it will be easier to get a quick visual from the customized graphs, as well as, run more detailed performance reports to analyze the amount you've made from various ad formats, ad sizes, bid types, etc.
There a "What's New" section that you might want to look at. (You'll see that once you get into the beta interface). Once you click on the "What's New" you can look at the controls. Which of course is where I went. It gives you an overview of everything.
I decided to roam through the interface to see some of the things I had available to me. The one area I looked at is the tab called "Allow Block ads". You will find that you really may not want all the different categories of ads running. But before blocking them off, be sure and see if the category you are thinking about blocking is giving you clicks or not. Anyway, in this section you'll find:
1) ad controls,
2) advertise site, category and ad network blocking
3) Ad review center The ad review center has been update to make it easier for you to review ads that been placement targeted to your site. Here you will be able to search for ads by: 1) ad type 2) keyword 3) URL
4) ad network, and; 5) choose to approve add allow or block them.
Category block-as with the old interface, allows you to block categories of ads from showing up on your site. SUch as: politics, religion, dating ads etc.
Home area: gives you an overview, payments (nice, it's right front and center), messages, account setting, and resources (This area gives you a nice help area).
Creating New Ads
To create a new ad you'll find it under "My ads".
There will be a button that says "New Ad unit".
You'll see everything under the ad:
Name
Size
Ad type
Color palette
Font family, font size, and corner styles
and the custom channel.
I've noticed that you no longer see, or have a separate "color palette section". It's self-contained within each ad.
This is a quick run through of what I saw. As with anything, it will take a little time to get comfortable with the changes. But all in all, I like the changes.
Here is a quick video you can watch to get a close up look at what the new Interface looks like.
