New Adsense Structure
Well, it looks like Adsense has created a new interface for everyone to work with. It's suppose to make things a little easier for you to see to analyze your Adsense ads. If you haven't already gotten the new beta interface in your account, you will soon. You'll know it because Google will either send you an email saying they activated the New Adsense interface or you'll see a link called "beta Adsense interface".
I've been playing around with the new interface.. I do agree that it will be easier to get a quick visual from the customized graphs, as well as, run more detailed performance reports to analyze the amount you've made from various ad formats, ad sizes, bid types, etc.
There a "What's New" section that you might want to look at. (You'll see that once you get into the beta interface). Once you click on the "What's New" you can look at the controls. Which of course is where I went. It gives you an overview of everything.
I decided to roam through the interface to see some of the things I had available to me. The one area I looked at is the tab called "Allow Block ads". You will find that you really may not want all the different categories of ads running. But before blocking them off, be sure and see if the category you are thinking about blocking is giving you clicks or not. Anyway, in this section you'll find:
1) ad controls,
2) advertise site, category and ad network blocking
3) Ad review center The ad review center has been update to make it easier for you to review ads that been placement targeted to your site. Here you will be able to search for ads by: 1) ad type 2) keyword 3) URL
4) ad network, and; 5) choose to approve add allow or block them.
Category block-as with the old interface, allows you to block categories of ads from showing up on your site. SUch as: politics, religion, dating ads etc.
Home area: gives you an overview, payments (nice, it's right front and center), messages, account setting, and resources (This area gives you a nice help area).
Creating New Ads
To create a new ad you'll find it under "My ads".
There will be a button that says "New Ad unit".
You'll see everything under the ad:
Name
Size
Ad type
Color palette
Font family, font size, and corner styles
and the custom channel.
I've noticed that you no longer see, or have a separate "color palette section". It's self-contained within each ad.
This is a quick run through of what I saw. As with anything, it will take a little time to get comfortable with the changes. But all in all, I like the changes.
Here is a quick video you can watch to get a close up look at what the new Interface looks like.

New Tool by Google
New Tool by Google
Google has just introduced a new open source Apache module tool called "mod_pagespeed". It is like page speed, expect that this tool automatically optimizes web pages and the resources on them.
The new tool rewrites the resources using filters, while implementing the best practices of web performance. Is it worth trying? Maybe, if what a Google representative says is true. Paraphrased-It can speed your web page load time by up by 50%.
Should this tool be used? It's up to you. However, if you are not aware or you forgot, Google is beginning to use site speed as one of the elements in measuring your web search rankings. Thus, if you're finding some of your web pages showing signs of slow page speed loading, it may be one tool that you should do a little more search into.

Google Instant-What It All Means
Google Instant-What It All Means
Google Instant, what is this creature? And, how is it going to affect Internet Marketing? Two good questions that many have been mulling over since Google has put Google Instant in play. So, do you need to worry? Let's see.
Before we can discuss Google Instant, we need to first define it? Google Instant refers to Google Instant search. What it will do is give you faster and better search results. How? As soon as you start typing results will begin to shown. In addition, as you are typing you will be shown a range of possible queries that may be relevant to your search. These queries will appear in grey. And-this will all be seen before you ever hit the "Search" button.
As you may know, we read faster than we type. Thus, Google is hoping that their "Instant Search" will help you type less. And, if you type less, they figure they are saving you an average of 2-5 seconds per search.
You may have already used it. I found it rather interesting. However, how will it effect SEO?
How Will Google Instant Affect SEO?
How will Google Instant affect SEO? Will it hurt or help your website that utilizes SEO? I found some of what is being said interesting. Your SEO may need some tweaking, when it comes to your keyword length and keyword character length. For example:
1) Google Instant will easily use 1-term keywords, while emphasizing fewer 2-term keywords. However, the 3+ keyword phases seem to have no significant changes.
2) Shorter keyword lengths. The length of the keywords will be shorter because the new search options will cause searcher to stop typing once they see the results they are looking for. (It is expected that the keyword character length will be from 3 to 9 characters in length and not the traditional 10 to 20 character length.)
It seems, if the above transitions are the case, Google Adwords will become more viable to making money. Why? It means that Google is attempting to improve the relevancy of the keyword and thus, making you improve your ad copy or content. Which in turn, it will help Google's bottom line by moving traffic more efficiently through "paid listing" versus organic search.
All in all, do you need to worry about the changes? Of course. If you're an internet marketer and want to effectively drive traffic to your site by paid listings or even organic search, you will need to tweak your ads and your content to keep traffic coming to your site or landing page. As for a new website, if you're using the long tail search terms you should see no changes.(If you're not, you should. Why? You cannot compete with the big boys.)
