Getting Email Subscribers from Google Search Results?
Is Google really testing an Adwords format that will allow Google searchers to subscribe to email marketers newsletters directly from the search results pages?
Supposedly it's a possible opportunity for a few advertisers. The Ads will basically look like a typical Google Ad with one difference. It will also include a place where the individual can add their email address with "Subscribe to newsletter", followed by a "Privacy" link. What does the "privacy" link provide? It just a statement saying, "When you submit this form, your email address will be sent to the advertiser."
Are any of the email marketing firms taking advantage of these ads? Of course. The most recognizable are: VerticalResponse, Constant Contact and AWeber.
Well, obviously email is not dead? And it, emails and searches are still the most popular activity on the Internet, coming in at 92%. Granted social network sites are seeing a continual rise from it's low of 11% to it now, 65% showing, emails and searches are still going strong.
However, it looks like Google believes that all three forms of activities (social, email and search) can co-exist, as well as, offer another way to drive people to advertisers, and advertisers to Google Adwords.
Will this new ad format by Google survive? Some think Google will expand this service. It definitely would bring more people into Adwords. We shall see.
